Shakey's V-League 7th Season

Upon checking the league's official website, www.v-league.ph, the premier women's volleyball league in the country will now have 10 teams on its line up with three (3) Visayan Teams, namely: University of San Jose - Recoletos (USJ-R), Southwestern University (SWU) and University of St. La Salle - Bacolod.

The Visayan Teams usually come in during the quarter finals, now all is but an equal playing field in bagging the championship crown. SWU will be treated as a Metro Manila team replacing the UP Fighting Maroons who is preparing its roster for the 2nd season this July, 2010.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) ended the 6th conference with a twin win, getting back-to-back titles, making them the winningest team in the league with 5 titles, next is DLSU with 4. DLSU has the title of the most back to back championship titles of 3.

The UAAP and NCAA schools are ever ready to step into the volleyball court once again for school pride and team honor. Excerpts from v-league.ph:

"Under the format, the 10 teams will be divided into two groups and play a one-round robin elims with the top four squads from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The Last 8 will again be grouped into two and play a single round with the top two teams in each group clashing in a pair of crossover semis. Winners will then clash for the crown in another best-of-three affair.

Playdates are set on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 2 p.m. Games will be shown on a delayed basis the following playdate on NBN 4 although matches can be viewed live on webcast at www.v-league.ph."
